Editorial approach and privacy

How optional analytics, local planning records and external links work on Accessible Home Hub.

Optional analytics

With your consent, our custom events count fixed categories of planning-tool starts, discussion plans created, estimate copy/print actions, navigation to tools, affiliate-link clicks and visits to business websites. They do not include your answers, measurements, budget amounts, directory search terms, location entries or free text.

We currently use Google Analytics 4, not Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics. GA4 is loaded only after you accept analytics. It may use analytics cookies and process browser, device and connection information. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in the site configuration.

We block analytics when this browser reports Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC), including where an earlier acceptance is stored. This is a site preference rule; it does not change your browser settings or certify compliance with every jurisdiction.

Analytics is not loaded until accepted.

Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. If browser storage is unavailable it cannot be remembered after leaving the page. Rejecting after acceptance disables measurement, removes accessible GA cookies and reloads the page. It does not delete information already processed by Google.

Planning records and device storage

Worksheet and calculator answers are not submitted to us or included in our custom analytics events. Some worksheets offer optional saving on this device; enable it only when appropriate. Clear entries or disable saving to remove the saved worksheet copy. Questionnaire answers are saved only if you enable Save progress on this device; disable saving or choose Clear answers to remove them. The professional project brief and all-in-one planning pack are not saved automatically. Your saved guide list and high-contrast preference are also stored in this browser and are not submitted to us.

The unit preference and analytics choice are stored in this browser. If you enable offline tools, the browser stores public site pages and assets. Printed, downloaded and saved copies remain under your control; keep completed records secure on shared devices.

Hosting and external shopping links

Firebase Hosting and external services may process request and connection information under their own policies. Following a Geniuslink or retailer link takes you to a separate service that may use cookies and collect data. Our analytics preference does not control those services.

Standards, sources and corrections

Editorial standards

We distinguish planning suggestions, sourced dimensions, manufacturer requirements and local regulation. Numerical examples identify their scope and units. We favour official government guidance, standards bodies and organisations with relevant subject expertise, and label commercial links.

Review process

  1. Identify the intended task, audience and jurisdiction.
  2. Check numerical claims and service information against the linked primary sources; record the check date.
  3. Validate calculator arithmetic and key interactions before publishing changes through GitHub and Firebase.
  4. Recheck affected content when guidance changes or a correction is identified.

Source checking and automated accessibility tests do not constitute clinical review, a building approval or a full WCAG conformance assessment. We have no named clinical advisory panel. Discuss a suspected error with the professional using the guide and confirm the underlying source before acting.
